October 10th, 2013, I bid on a plant and won it, thinking it was a fluke, I bid on a second plant, I won it, then I bid on a third, won it and finally I bid on a fourth plant and won that too!
Months ago, when I started my Neofinetia acquisition frenzy, I bought three plants from Al's Orchids. When I bought those three plants I spent a lot of time researching all about Neofinetia. I remember at the time I thought I spent a fortune on my first Neofinetia purchase. Before this purchase, I bought marked down Phalaenopsis from big box stores. If I spent $15.00 I was bringing home at least four rescue Phals. Paying $15 for a plant that was no larger than a US Quarter was ludicrous.
This is a picture of my first three plants.
Today, delivered is my aforementioned surprising Neofinetia purchase. I turned down opportunities to purchase other Neofinetia and I have resisted buying anymore from New World Orchids or Orchid Limited. I had to share this group purchase with you as these were surprisingly better looking in person than how they were pictured. Group picture:
