Default Neofinetias on EcoWeb/EpiWeb

Ryan (Pilot) posted an interesting pic of a Neo. hybrid planted in EcoWeb in an Aircone pot from Ray. It reminded me of the Neo. fan from 'Benisuzume' (I think) that fell off the main plant and dropped onto a slab of EcoWeb I forgot about that was laying under my Neo. bench.

A quick pic of Benisuzume on EcoWeb. Not the best shot; taken with a mobile in the rain.

The slab is so full of roots I can only straighten it out a little. It has 2 new fans starting on either side, so I guess it likes it.

Cheers.
Jim

SO GLAD to read this post!!!! Makes me very hopeful for my neo future because I truly believe this stuff is great. YES you have to water often but if you have the set up, the plants love this stuff.

Im using epiweb cubes as drainage and as an core in my moss mounds. I have.over 50 neos this way. In the summer "the best" mounds dries up in 2 days. Also I have an large empty space at the bottom of the terracotta pots I am using. The only downside Is that the roots are easily broken when you handle the plant.

Yes I can see how that would be a problem. If the root grows through a small opening, there isn't much support to keep it from breaking. I've noticed that when repotting plants grown in this stuff, people will drop pot it-- meaning find a bigger pot and drop it is with new media to fill in the space.
