Great. Now I have Mussorgsky running in my head.
That hybrid is going to stay in that pot. If/when it grows too big, I'll drop-pot it into a larger pot.

well i am now OBSESSED with this idea. thanks for that. 
i have a chunk of volcanic rock picked out and a little saucer for it. But now i need a plant. i personally am not too keen on neos though (please don't hate me  ) any one have any ideas of some other plants that may do well (or at least well enough) in this sort of set up? |

I used to have a miniature phal mounted & a friend of mine grows all of of her encyclias in lava rock. |

Something lithophytic? I don't think it needs to be really lithophytic. Some bulbo might work if you keep the lava rock wet-sort of S/H?
