Why do you think it died?

Something you all may want to consider are neo hybrids. They are much more hardy and eager to please.

Oh, I do have this hybrid whose roots are climbing over and around lava rocks in its pot.

Because I suck with mounted plants. Always one missed watering away from death.

Yeah I think a hybrid would be a better choice. A neostylis would work great since they seem to be almost defiant against death.

I had two on cork that didn't make it. I also tried one on driftwood it threw a spike but both buds blasted. I recently potted it up in spag. All of them had a poor root system despite my spraying several times a day. I am over it.

Going back to this Korean Neofinetia On A Rock Artist/Gardner, I found this composition.

Before I give you this picture, consider the idea that some gardeners dedicate their entire raison d'êtra to create a garden that transports you to another reality. In my opinion, this is the very definition of art. Of course your definition will be different. If I created this art, I would have titled it "Fireworks Above Mount Baldy".

Matt, go find a rock and create your own. It will take a year or two to get a plant established. Times-a-wasting!

I was looking at your own project AnonYMouse, and I think you have "IT" with this piece. I hope you find a good rock or something to mount your hybrid. As for me, I think I'll take up your encouragement and try to do my own Mountain.

I have several Shutennou "Red Emperor" 朱天王 plants that I'm going to use for my project.
