Thank you all for your encouragement and kind comments. The real challenge now is getting this plant (and all of the other Neofinetia I acquired in the last five months) to survive the Winter. I hope I can make similar reports and photos next Spring.

Matt, your plants will survive the winter just fine. Don't stress over this.

Whew! Thanks Tracy, I know, I know...can't help it! I can grow anything in good warm weather. As the weather turns colder and night seems to end late and start early, my anxiety creeps up exponentially. I keep telling myself that I have acquired the easiest orchid to grow in my environment, and yet .... Oh well...ironically, I have thirty two Phalaenopsis--one of which YOU helped me acquire thru Big Leaf--a Phal. gigantea x LDS bear Queen--and I have no anxiety over them. Phals take a lot more care than Neos.

You, silly! Someday, I will be as knowledgeable as Tracy.
I know your Neos will be just fine. So will your Phals.

Intellectually I know that, but when I pick up a plant and it is completely bone dry, I can't help but feel it needs watered. I have a humidifier, the daytime temperature is around 65*F and drops to around 50*F in the evening, an oscillating fan runs on a timer and keeps the air moving. The plants are growing in a sunny room, sky light above and in front of a west facing glass brick wall providing plenty of dappled bright light. I think this is a good environment.
