WOW, Ryan, beautiful Sederia...I can see why you really like these plants. I'm glad you are keeping this plant and willing to share your progress. I have given up on these small little Sederia. I can grow Nagoran and even Nagoran-shima, but the smaller Minmaru, I cannot afford!

Yep! I find that if I can get new roots on most plants, they'll do well for me and surprisingly, these guys are easy to root.

I get it-- trust me, I do. I just needed to find the right balance and I hope I have. They seem to enjoy this new set up. The hydroton is not in sh-- as I believe I mentioned, they drain freely. So these plants are on a table that gets misted from several angles heavily every day at their "sun rise" time of 8PM (I grow in the basement under lights). The tent's humidity during this time hits a sultry 90%....yeah...9 followed by a 0. It's pretty thick air in there during the misting stage. It'll settle back down to 70% at the driest stage. Anyway, these guys get drenched for 30 minutes and the roots are green and plump by the end but the plants are dry by "noon" per their photo period. So what it comes down to is that they get plenty of water but are allowed to dry, not desiccate, every day. So far so good. I won't delude myself in to thinking I've got this down yet but I'm seeing very positive signs that the plants are liking it. I will keep photos of them as time goes on as I forget if this root or that leaf is new or not and how big have they grown etc. I do this for my Fugaku, too, since some of the fans are so heavily WHITE i need to keep track of their progress.

Here is my standard sed.... much larger but you can see I'm getting results I've not experienced before... this one is grown on a Kool Log.

Thanks! I may even be willing to try out another minmarushima.... yes.... everyone, you read that right. Now, if I can find one that isn't a small fortune...
