But having Neos is the best food, don't you think? They are "food" for the spirit!

Nice looking seedlings and good reuse of plastic. Agree they're food for the spirit.

Cool that you recycled the containers. I tried that once with the vented plastic containers that strawberries are packaged in--and then I forgot to weigh the thing down and had to go search for it in the yard. Luckily the grasshoppers hadn't discovered it before I rescued the (possibly traumatized) seedlings. Did you deflask these yourself or did they already come in a community pot? It will be interesting to see how they mature.

Hello smweaver--fellow Hoosier! I bought a flask of these Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata seedlings a month ago. The vendor guaranteed 10-15 viable seedlings that was ready to be potted. I got 13. But then there were these remaining seedlings, 21 of them, that I did not want to throw away. I had all of them originally in another kind of to-go container but it wasn't ideal, it kept drying out too fast. Then last Friday, I ordered Chinese take out--Mei Fan Singapore, and General Tso (for those who want to know). The food came in these two containers. Normally they deliver food in the classic Chinese take out box.

After we finished dinner, I washed these containers and repotted the seedlings into them. I just checked them. The sphagnum feels damp and the seedling roots look nice and green.

It is very important to recycle or re-purpose items before they go to landfill. I hope this thread gives others inspiration to do the same. Sorry your recycling went awry, Indiana wind is very strong--next time, order Chinese!! LOL!
