I like the long strong curved variegated leaves & that it's an old name for Mount Fuji.....what could be more appealing than that.
They're intoxicating... I look at mine all the time and every time I look at it I find a new strand of green or white or a new fan that is all green or another that is devoid of green completely. My first fugaku was heavily variegated and it's new fans seem even more so-- I'm afraid that's not a very good sign for it's future but for now its very pretty. I added another fugaku to it for contrast and it looks great. It's growing new roots so I hope it keeps up with that business as it is now living in sh.
I find keeping root stimulating additives help like seaweed extract.

I have struggled, as you know, very much with growing in moss. Since I've moved Fugaku to sh, I also moved it under an auto misting system and I credit the consistent watering as a reason it has succeeded. It literally had NO roots when I got it from the vendor, sadly, and moss wasn't helping. The roots are stark white.
