Yeah, I guess my inner Neofinetia geek got me. I did bid on the Sederia when it was first listed a couple of days anon. But that one was something I was trying to get for a friend.
Speaking of Sederia, can one really love their plants to death? I've been reading Ryan's Sederia Chronicles. The latest installment was a hoot!
Tonight's bidding was a total lark, I was bidding thinking I'd get someone else to outbid me. When I won the first one, did I stop? Nope. Second time around? Nope. Neither the third or fourth time. Thank goodness Seed Engei ran out of plants. Tomorrow night there are three plants that I have already placed a bid. I hope I do not win those bids.
Coffeecup did get a great price for the Jitsugeko. But that Jungai went for $71?

I'm a little leary of that Yodonomatsu. Not sure why 2 leaves are yellowing; one isn't a bottom leaf and the other yellowing leaf opposite is bottom leaf on its side, but looks like there were other leaves below it that dropped, leaving the main growth a little lop-sided.
I really like the nice big clump of Yodonomatsu I bought from coffeecup though (7 plus growths).

Okay, that is where I have seen that name. Yeah, the plant up for bid does show some two leaves with yellowing. I was thinking maybe it was getting too much light? The other two plants--actually one set of two Kibana, and the Phal. Daifuki; are up to my highest bid--so maybe I'll lose (loose?) those bids. I'm bidding on the Yodo, because of its name. And if stays less than $24, I'll be happy.

Due to work and traffic, it off set my schedule way off. I was at dinner bidding on my phone...so bad. I wasn't going to pay over $70 for one growth on the Jukai either. That is just ridiculous.

Well at least you got the Jitsugekko at a nice price. But yes, I don't think I'd pay that much for that Jukai either, at least I hope I wouldn't.

Good for you! And at a reasonable price too. I see Matt tried for that one as well.
You do know there's a minimaru shima listed for Friday nite? Oh wait, I see you already said you won't be bidding on that one.
I'm the luckiest one - I didn't win any (yet) this week.

Yeah the price was pretty good! and no, i won't be getting a shima any time soon-- first, they're expensive and second, until I get the culture down of seds in general, I don't be laying too much cash down only to be disappointed when they die. My remaining shima is on its way out as is chabo.
I now know that I was in fact over watering and there are other factors involved, too. I can usually get a plant to replace their roots but with the fertilizer apparently burning the tips (and I used very light fertilizer), the health of the plant kept declining.
So the plants I do have remaining have been repotted using aquamat which I believe I can more adequately flush and keep them as airy as possible while keeping moisture available about the roots.
No idea if this will work but might as well try.
I have a minmaru I repotted earlier this week that has restarted old root tip growth and it's already growing on to a bit of the aquamat-- which is very good news!

As you know I had trouble with the Sidereas as well. I purchased two more and they seem to be doing well I was also overwatering them.
I am not so comfortable with the moss either but the aquamat will be hard for me to get accustomed to because it looks unnatural. Neos can grow in other mediums a friend of my uses lava rock & they do well mounted for some people. For now I will continue to pot them in the traditional Japanese style.
Btw, I loved your pot I have all of my Neos in my pots as well. It adds to my enjoyment of them. I just purchased 2 new Neos on eBay from Jason so I will have to make a couple more pots for them when I return from visiting my daughter. Good luck with the aquamat.

It's yours now, I see, and for only 19.99. And a pair of Kibana too, eh?
Anyone else here score anything?
I see newworldorchids just added a couple Beniougi for Wednesday nite to their listing.

What is really interesting to me is, I fell asleep thinking someone would outbid me on all three of my auctions. On the Kibana, I figured that $50 was a good value, considering how these plants looked and how many growths. I suppose I was the only one who held them in such high esteem, LOL.
After our comments on the Yodo, I had a feeling I would end up winning it. However, I thought I would have some competition for it. Wrong again!
I am surprised that I did NOT win the Daifuki. I thought no one would value this plant for over $35, but two other people thought it was worth more than that amount!
The lesson learned is: the only way to win any eBay auction (or not) is to stay awake and bid!
The two plants offered by New World Orchids look good. I'm glad Glenn has decided to keep the seed pod on the one plant. I think having a seed pod adds a lot of potential value--if you can get it to mature and then to germinate. Even though the parentage is unknown, the seedlings could prove 'much appreciable features' to make acquiring it worthwhile. I have three plants with seed pods and high expectations.

These vendors really are offering us some beautiful Neos. Congrats to everyone on your wins.
I really want one of those Beniougi NWO listed I surely wish it was a "buy it now" I will not be able to compete when the serious bidding starts. The write up says that he usually sells them for $195. I will watch what happens it will be interesting. I hope it ends up like your situation Matt where no one outbids you.
