Personally, I would keep the two Kirin Maru together: Satomi mentioned that they grow better together when they are small like this. Perhaps similar to Phal seedlings in compots.

Yeah, I was kind of conflicted on what to do; I felt that I would be sort of cheating if I continued to keep them as a single plant. I was so fond of the so nearly matched pair that I bought as a 2-growth plant. I may end up rejoining them in my next remounding session.

Yikes! I bid on two plants and I won them!! And the plant I wanted, Oonamiseikai 大波青海 "Big Blue Ocean Wave", I got outbid! Not a lot of frenzied bidding activity tonight. The Sedirea japonica SEIGYOKUMARU-青玉丸, was won by $5.50 over list price. That is one in-expensive Chabo.

I wanted to bid on the sed but lost track of time. Also I don't believe its a Chabo. Chabo is even smaller.

Hanagoroma at 95 has one bid, ending in 35 minutes and the Unkai (230), no bids, ends in about 50 mins.
Must. Stay. Strong. I will not bid.

Beautiful plant and worth every penny. Arrived in perfect condition with both spikes intact.
Thanks Kristen/Biochick!
Interesting how they finish the mound; the green stripes in the pics (see ebay link above) is actually a special string made to look like a green moss strand. I wonder if that's available in the US or imported special by NW.
I had the plant sent Express Mail, which is worth the cost for me for one simple reason: Priority Mail is usually delivered in the late afternoon here, a time at which I am sleeping ahead of working night shift; Express, on the other hand, is always delivered before noon.

I told you it was a beautiful plant, I did see it last Saturday. Your plant along with the other four made a beautiful arrangement!
Regarding the green string, Kristen showed me the spool of this thread. It is only available in Japan. I checked this out with Joann Fabrics. They can special order this for me but it will cost $125 for something like 200 yards. That is worth a plant.

Any chance NWO can import it and sell it as a product in their line? I'd buy.

I've seen that stuff before, my dad used to use it for tying flies. I have one plant that originally came from NWO that's potted that way, I can clearly see the string because it turned green faster than the sphagnum. That's one downside to it.

You can probably find something similar enough at super-duper-specialty yarn/knitting shops. I've seen yarns that would work.

I am going to update my Neo list if anyone's interested. If you're interested in a few plants, I'd be happy to consider a lump price and cover your shipping costs. Thanks to everyone so far who have helped me trim down my collection!
