I don't either but you are a friend, so post a list and I'm sure we'll all chip in and buy a plant or two! Are you selling any Neos?

Just checked in over at eBay, two hours to go before auction ends. Interestingly only a few bids and those that are being bid on, are close to US$100.00--too rich for me.

I honestly don't know why people are bidding to $86 for 2 pots of 'Furan'. 'Furan' is the basic of all Neofinetia. Pretty sure retail price for 'Furan' from other greenhouses only go for $5-15 each.
The Neofinetia craze has evolved to a whole new level. It's both sad and shocking to me that the market for these plants are going crazy.

Weird, and it's only 3 people bidding that drove this up from a $15 starting bid to $86. I'm putting that in my watch list just to see how crazy it gets in the last minutes. I think it's an ebay phenomenon more than a Neo thing. I recall reading that it's not at all uncommon for things on ebay to go for substantially higher than list/MSRP price.

Note too that 2 of the bidders have very low feedback counts (low single digits), so they may be relatively green at ebaying. Not that I'm the voice of great experience; I only have 10 feedbacks (never a seller, only an occasional buyer).

They have gotten into the competition of winning. Makes no sense to pay that much for those two orchids.

What I don't understand about bidding, is there are a lot of other plants with just one bid for less than $50.00 is it just these plants that are particularly rare? I agree that the two set Furan for $86 has got to be expensive, as Jeremiah indicated how inexpensive this plant is from other vendors. So I have to assume it is some kind of competition to win a bid. But there are other plants available that have one bidder and are relatively inexpensive, so far. This whole auction to me is better than reality TV!

I really wish these auctions would be held on weekends and end sooner. I have an early meeting to conduct at work tomorrow and I have to be alert and oriented. I cannot drag in tomorrow explaining I was watching a bunch of Neofinetia Falcata being bought for too much money!

Are you for real?!?! 2 plants of 4 growth each for almost $90? Those regular furan grow like weeds so I feel bad for whoever wins that one. The most hilarious thing I've heard all day.

Just add 'em to your watch list and then you'll be able to find them with the bid history anytime you like after the auction ends.

For me, Monday and Tuesday night are my regular weekends. I work third shift the other nights for a large national ISP/telco, but my job was realigned last year to where I have negligible actual work to do and still make the same not bad pay (plus 8 or more hours of OT weekly) as when I supported a zillion different data products. Until last August I had to work change requests and trouble tickets for managed routers, firewalls, data circuits, dedicated and shared servers, DNS and data center colocation. Now I just mostly babysit a data center, although I'll be doing more wiring and installs in the future.

But enough about me. We now return you to (e)Baywatch already in progress....
