Good luck everyone! May your roots be red.

Acquiring Neofinetias Via EBay
Anybody win any new plants during round one last night? I bid on the ugly Neofinetia and lost. Oh well, round two tonight, and then its off to Saugatuck, Michigan for a nice three day holiday. I'm going to miss round three tomorrow. I don't need any more Neos. to make life complete!
How are your Neofinetia doing? It has been hot this week in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I have been watering every morning. All of my Neos. are developing new leaves and roots.

Congratulations Joy! You are going to really enjoy your Seikai 青海 "Blue Sea". It really is very small.

Agreed. Is a good one for sure. And the one fan I bought has three new ones growing. Is a bean so I expected it to grow more slowly but it's a pretty robust variety. The flowers are supposed to be fantastic.

Good for you! Looks like you got it for a fair price and this is one bean leaf that should be in every collection. I got one last month from the catalog.

[QUOTE=Jayfar;600746]That was the other one I was looking at. This one, right? I assume the plant pictured is the one you bought.

At first the Daishogun didn't appeal to me so much, but as I kept returning to look at the pic it really grew on me. If I had unlimited money I likely would have snatched that one up as well. Good to know it has been sold, as I can imagine in a moment of fiscal insanity I might have eventually ordered it.

My variegated Tamakongou aka Daishougun arrived on Wednesday and looked like this. Oh so tiny but cute. I like it.
I put it in the shadehouse right away and today I noticed the variegation seems to be a bit nicer and more prominent. A good example of how optimal light levels outdoors can sometimes improve variegation on certain varieties. I hope someday it can look like the plant on page 29 of the Seed Engei catalogue

I snuck a peek at it on your flickr last night, figuring that you had it by then.
It sure is a beaut! At first I thought your third pic was the catalog picture that you referred to, but now I realize it is the same plant with more distinct variegation after a little quality time in the daylight.
Thanks again for buying it and saving me from my potential fiscal imprudence. 50/50 odds I would have put in an order for that one too by now.
I've got to remember to ask Satomi if she still has a copy of the printed catalog she can send me.
