Just checked the current bid. Yes, its already exceeded another online retailer ($15/growth-not in spike).

I got a five growth from Jeremiah... nice plants....SO TINY!!!! Does anyone know if there are smaller neos? I'm be shocked if there are. These fans I have are apparently adult size.
I got my original Senzai from Seed-Engei and then more at a garage sale. That house actually has garage sales every now and then of orchids he grows (I think he grows them?). Mostly Cymb. but I think he just happened to have Neos in a box that one day. He told me a friend just dropped it off and told him to sell it for whatever he can get.

Senzai is pretty small, I think Kuro Shinju might be smaller, if not the same size. My Hougyoku and Senzai are approximately the same size. Kuro Shinju is slightly smaller, very slight. I am not aware of anything smaller.
I did receive a cluster of Senzai from that garage sale that has multiple growths. Each growth, however, is no bigger than a dime. I'm not even sure if that's still Senzai or just a weird runt. Nonetheless, I have no intentions of selling a weirdo. It's on the reject pile for me.

If anyone is interested, PM me for price. I don't have shipping materials at the moment, so I'd have to order some boxes first to do priority mail shipping. Local pick-ups preferred. I live in San Francisco.

And to be more on topic:
Is it just me, or has Seed-Engei really been lacking on really nice plants lately? The past 2-3 (including this recent one) has some pretty crummy looking Neos. The Beni-Tengu looks like the flowers will bloom beautifully but look at that fan. It looks awful No wonder it's only 18.99 to start! I've got them saved on eBay, just waiting for some beauties to show up. If I'm gonna pay top $$, I want quality looking plants!

I agree with you. The only plants up for auction that look appealing to me are the non-Neofinetia. Maybe it's the photography? Or maybe the descriptions just read mundane. Gosh--I sound jaded!!! LOL

I have felt the same for sometime now especially since we end up paying so much for the plants on eBay. They just don't see worth the auction price. You all can tell that I particularly like plants from Orchids Limited since I am always posting pics of Neos from them. Even if it is an eBay plant I can count on it being quality and extremely well packed. I also like Al's Orchid Greenhouse but don't think he uses eBay.

Speech1248 is not Mystic Orchids it turns out. They do know one of the owners of Mystic Orchids, but the plants are not from them. From speech1248:

"The plants came from a retiring orchid grower in Ohio (who wants to remain unknown - for various reasons) who does not sell on ebay or at shows, so had us do it for them. No idea if there will be more plants or not."

Jeremiah, the Senzai you sold me are doing well. They are so stinking small, though!!! I have it potted in a small pot and even so the pot looks too big. I'd say the pot is no larger than a small chicken egg in size. I've had lots of new root growth but to be honest, if new fans grew since getting it, I admit to not having any clue about them. Lol.

I am impressed with your investigation Jay. Whoever the grower is they listed beautiful Neos. I wonder if anyone on the board get one?
