Oh oh syspilla, you really have to be careful about bidding on eBay. Figure out exactly how much you are willing for these plants and stick with it. If you get caught up in the bidding frenzy, you might win a plant that cost you a whole lot more than you intended OR, you might not win the one you wanted and end up with three other plants. I have to admit, when I first started this happened to me. Some of the eBay experts around here advise to hold off bidding on your target plant until the last 10 seconds of the auction, put in your highest bid and this last second bidding will give no time for your opponent to bid above you. Around here this is known as the Jayfar Strategy. He often wins his auctions and swears by this method.

Hmm, I see on the spike with a single bud, one of the spurs is full length, but the other 2 are still very short. Is that normal, will the other 2 spurs elongate before the flower opens?
|
Yes, things like that can happen every so often. I have a Nishidemiyako that bloomed with 2 spurs on one of the spikes a few years back. Neos do weird things. That makes them even more fun.

He has listed some before in the past. However, back then the bids did not go as high as they do now, for the Seed Engei plants. So most people at that time probably found that it was cheaper to bid on the Seed Engei plants instead because Satomi tends to list a lower starting price compared to Jason's.
So OL didn't end up selling many of their listed plants on ebay at that time. That being the case, he stopped listing them for a while. The time put in to list the plants was not worth the return.

I have built web sites but it would take skills I do not have to take on that project.

Ya, I do like looking out patient's windows and seeing mountains. Think I will stay here.
But, a travel nursing job would support my neo habit. Sedirea japonica here I come! I could buy two!

Falling in love with a Minmaru-shima is exactly what got me into Neos/moniliforme/sedirea.
You are sunk. Better find that traveling nurse job, stat!

That realization has dawned on me. I thinked I dreamed about it last night. Still trying to figure out how to sneak one past my hubby. I don't think I can order one until Engel comes back from England anyway.
I have this thread and you all to thank.

I think it's Glenn (New World Orchids) who is off to merry ole England. Seed Engei is out of Southern California (near San Diego)-- I don't know that she's going to the UK.
Anyone know why Glenn et al is going to the UK? Is there a big event happening? He apparently took a bunch of pre-orders. I hope it's wildly success for him.
