This is a great thread. I've been reading a lot of old threads on Neofinetia here, there is a wealth of growing knowledge. Other forums just do not have as many growers it seems though I do find some great threads. With the update of OB it has been much easier to access the old threads.
It's always exciting waiting for new plants. I really don't know Kristen's shipping days, my last order was delayed due to cold and I don't find information on her site as to shipping. I'll post a new thread when I receive them. Pictures of course!

Patty, thank you for resurrecting this thread. It is amazing to re-read this thread. It is like a journal of collection Neofinetia!

I stumbled across this awesome thread, and have spent about an hour reading random section of it. (I'm not going to sit and read all 176 pages of it!) S much interesting information!
My mind is starting to go back into Neo mode, though I'm sad that my main EU source seems to have stopped selling them. Jealous of you guys in the USA with all those wonderful ebay auctions!
I'll be going to Japan in November, and though I can't bring any plants back with me I'd LOVE to visit a nursery if I can convince my boyfriend that it's a good way to spend an afternoon. Anyone know of Neo nurseries in the Osaka/Kyoto area?

Camille, how wonderful for you to be going to Japan! I wish I could suggest a nursery, not sure where Seed Engei is located. A sea of Neofinetia would be amazing to experience and the pots!
This thread has been a huge help to me as have other old threads here. The limited information available online is sadly lacking. I am sad that I discovered Neofinetia long after most forum members moved on to other venues though there are a few still visiting from time to time and their knowledge is very much appreciated.
I hope you are able to purchase more Neos, I absolutely love them. I still use the older threads when I am researching a plant I've recently purchased or considering to purchase. There are years of experience and it has kept me up late many nights.

Just checked Seeds Engei, they are a bit far- halfway between Osaka and Tokyo. It would take 3h to get there, I never realized Japan was that big! (Or rather, not that small}.
I'm actually going for work, but we turned it into a vacation. My boyfriend will join me there at the end of my work related stuff and we'll spend a week enjoying the fall foliage and old temples.

I have been told that Neofinetia are readily available in garden stores or nursery stores. So you might not have to go too far to find them. Maybe not on the Ginza but in the suburbs?

Ask this guy?
Pic taken over 11 years ago but he might still have contacts and local info. Looks like he started in the south then visited to Kyoto (if the gallery is sequential, this should be in the Kyoto area...or not).
