Well Dries, I ordered some. I lost many of my Neo's amongst other orchids last winter due to a big mistake by the movers. So I'm getting some replacements and a few more. Kirsten expects to be coming in august.

And Dries, could you share your Neo info with me so I can add it to my database (Fuukiran Database). It's slowly comming together.

Kristen/New World Orchids (NWO) is an excellent source of Neofinetia, Marc. Unfortunately NWO, Seed Engei, and Orchids Limited are only too happy to send me as many plants I desire!

Default Acquiring Neofinetias Via EBay

There are many Neofinetia plants up for auction ending 07/02/14 and 07/03/14 from Seed Engei. There are several Neofinetia from orchidslimited as well. Seed Engei normally does auctions. Orchidslimited seems to do buy it now. In all of the time I have been buying plants through bidding from Seed Engei, I have often wondered why they didn't do buy it now. This plant is up for bid AND buy it now!

This plant has unusual flower as described by Seed Engei: "Flower is similar to SHUNKYUDEN but this variety does not have flower spurs.Produce pink color on petals compared to Shunkyuden. Very popular flower variety because of big flower and color. " Plant and photo from Seed Engei.

Wow! Somebody bought it at the "buy it now" price and took Nangoku-no-Mai out of consideration.

Orchids Limited has several Neofinetia falcata on buy it now/eBay. Sometimes this vendor just takes quick shots and posts the pictures of the plants up for auction but once in awhile, some one takes the time and effort to compose a picture and present the plant in the most breath taking way...here are photos from Orchids Limited that transcends the mundane of plants for sale into a work of art.

The 'Kinkujyaku' 金孔雀 (Orchids Limited translates this as "Golden Peacock") is potted in a regular pot and bark. I received an email from them that stated that they were migrating their Neofinetia stock away from traditional style BUT will ship the plant back to traditional style if requested.

While I am NOT in the market for more Neofinetia, these three plants give me pause....go to eBay and see the other pictures of these three plants. The other photos are very nice and show such a clarity of vision. Be warned: do so at your own risk--these are credit card or money sucking plants! LOL!

I watched the auction on eBay for the Hsui, for such a plant it got way too expensive for what it was originally listed.

There were less expensive plants available. This Fugaku was appealing and I lucked out.

Well done Matt that Fugaku is beautiful. I have used caution with eBay as well lately; sometimes folks gets into a frenzy bidding to win. I have done that more than once.

Thanks Ginger! This plant should arrive Thursday or Friday 07/10-11. I have to admit that I've slowed down my acquistion behavior quite a bit. I bought two plants, this one and another, they were going for cheap, so I bought them. I'm enjoying what I have and watching my Neofinetia grow roots, babies, leaves and flower.

I am still amazed at how lovely the blooms are--many of my plants have bloomed. I feel blessed by these many flowers. I am somewhat obsessed by Neofinita, watching each plant and doting on them. Repotting some of them is my next to-do list.

I hope all is well with you.
