I love happy endings; all's well that ends well. My Byakko arrived at 4:30 today after 4 days in the custody of USPS, a bit dry, but none the worse for the wear. Better yet, it is starting either a spike or a new growth (probably a spike), which wasn't at all apparent in the multiple ebay pics. Now that I look real hard at the pics, I think I can see it, but it must have grown a little in transit. It's only about a fifth of an inch. Love, love love the variegation on this one!
I don't have time to take photos today, but the ebay pics portray it very accurately. The white variegation is just a shade more yellowish than in the photos, but that may be partially a result of 4 days in darkness.

Just plain terrific! Enjoy! I have been busy making pots for my eBay wins and the one from Jason.

I had an order from New World bump around Detroit and the midwest for over a week. The box was crushed and one plant suffered some damage but the other plants were just fine-- in fact, all would have been fine if someone didn't sit on the box! These are tough plants. Only orchid growers like me can kill them.

Just in the middle of writing this, I decided I should check for a scent to give a proper full report. Couldn't smell a thing last evening. Wow!!! Heavenly scent now, especially from the Suruga-fukurin.
A special thanks to the regular posters in this section for stirring my interest in Neos. I generally wasn't straying much from Phals until I serendipitously started following the Fukiran scene here.

So glad your new Neo arrived safely, & with a spike!
Also, I kinda hate you a little... As if my wish list wasn't long enough, & my wallet wasn't empty enough... Then you go and show your pics of these Neos, especially the one on the far right.... and now, "thanks" to you... I absolutely have to have that one!!!
Crap, I've just discovered, I have NO will power what-so-ever, cuz I am browsing Al's & Orchidweb for the other variegated one u have too...

Jayfar, quick question, does the Shutennou have pink/red/plum -ish root tips? (this is one I've had my eye one ) Or are they green?

Any of my others I could tell you, but on the Shutennou I don't have any good exposed tips right now; I dug one out and it looks just a bit pink at the very tip. Another reference I googled claimed dark burgundy. Botany Boy's site shows ruby red in a photo.

Thanks Jayfar! That helps a lot! I am definitely gonna order the Shutennou... Although, I liked the flowers so much, I probably would've anyways!
