Jayfar, have you tried pollinating these yet? Don't.... you'll get hooked. LOL Quay (Call me Bob) convinced me to pollinate my Kinrokaku and now it has two seed pods growing and I'm thrilled by the idea of having a whole host of Kinrokaku crosses growing in my collection. This neo thing really should be in the DSM as a minor yet highly enjoyable illness.

I've created a monster

Ryan better share some of his crosses with me!

As far as you or anyone else interested in breeding Fukiran, most variegation in Fukiran is not passed down through breeding, which is exactly why the prices are so high when something new comes out! The exception to this is tiger stripes, tiger stripes can be passed down to a percentage of the offspring. I have not heard about flower color or leaf shape being passed down through breeding, but I would assume that it can be, or else I think it would've been mentioned in the places that it's mentioned that variegation is not passed down.

I'm seriously tempted to do a Phalanetia Irene remake, although I'd have to wait at least a few days for an equestris bud to open (and reconstruct the faded tag to remember which equestris it is). I have a single equestris rosea bloom available now though... I also have an intermedia opening today; wonder what that would do on a Suruga-fukurin. Probably I won't though.

Thanks! You were one of the main people that got me interested in these I think, when you called attention to the fukiran event at the SEPOS show.

I'll be up to 10 when my single-growth Byakko from Seed Engei (via ebay) arrives tomorrow and I just an hour ago unpacked two multi-growth plants from Orchids Ltd: Kinkousei and Seiryujishi.

Or not. USPS likes to occasionally randomize the delivery process. Hopefully the plant won't mind having sat in a box a total of 4 days until I receive it late Monday afternoon. Apparently by the time they got it to the correct Philly facility, it was too late to get on the truck for today. Grrrrr! And they gotta rub it in by not updating the expected delivery date in the tracking.

Oh that is so frustrating hope it makes it to you healthy. Not to rub in the irritation but mine came today. They were pretty dry guess because it has been so hot. Good luck with yours.
