How they get this consistent and intricate lattice is beyond me... I imagine it is a mold that slip (a very watery mix of water and clay) is poured in to and this is the result. In highschool we did this to make some very intricate things and thats the only way I'd know how to do it. But that involves a ton of equipment etc. *sigh* Makes my attempts at squeezing polyerclay into a pot shaped blobs look feeble!

Nope it makes your creation all the more incredible. That is the result of an industry with the right equipment and hundreds of years of knowledge.

What Red said. And, you are so freaking creative I bet you eventually figure out a way to do this.

I am still making pots I think I found my life's work It is so relaxing just working with the clay and challenging myself to paint the pots with difficult patterns. Of course, I have stolen the designs from online pics.

Talking about Neo Pots. Since I am new into these, I went to a local resale shop today to see if there might be a Neo Pot there. Well, there was. A really light tan, shallow with a 3.5 inch top opening, 2 inches deep, bottom opening is about 7/8 inches. It has glaze crazing on the outside. No glaze on the inside. It has an Asian design on it of trees and a stylized Japanese style island in print on it--no ID marks...it looks old tho I'm guessing not too. It has been used. It was only a dollar so igot it and a matching saucer to catch extra runoff water. Ideas out there from you all in the know?
