How did you get the lid on the brown one so flat. I was sanding mine but still can't get it to look like that.

Its pretty simple once you get it-- I roll out two pieces of clay (one piece is too thin for my taste) and you find two circles of different sizes, one big one small and you simply cut the circles out of the clay with the smaller one center inside the bigger one. Take the already-fired body of the pot and press it into the clay gently. I take another piece of clay and roll it out length-wise and using the edge of a ruler, press it into the new rim and the body of the pot for better stability. Oh I should mention, this rim is already on a flat baking sheet on foil. so the pot is fired, with its new rim, up-side down. Cutting out the rim on this foil is ideal so you don't disturb the shape...which you WILL do if you're like me. So best keep it on the foil from start to fire.

Let me know if that makes sense.

Four hours later...The feet and lip are so much harder than everything else! I'm definitely not happy with mine! I'll post pics once it's decorated.

trying to do the feet got me pissed and moody once I figure out a good method it will be better. Someone needs to do a video of themselves doing just the feet.
