I like the fish on your pot Ginger! That's great painting.

I'll admit Ryan, I've been waiting to see a tutorial so I could try doing this myself. But you are having too much fun making your own! So I've decided to give it a try and just wing it. Wish me luck

I'm sorry guys for the lack of a tutorial. I haven't made a pot in a while but I may make on tonight and ill do up photos. Truth is its a release for me. I have a stressful job and my kitchen is gutted right now (and I'm a hobby cook too!) not to mention caring for my family so the tutorial will come but on its own time. And I'll admit getting another pot done is better than writing a tutorial. Lol

I am starting a couple also. First thing I need to know is do you seal the inside also? Is this clay porous like a regular clay pot? If it is wouldn't the moisture seep through and ruin the paint if you don't seal it? I know that the paint is not water soluable after it is dry but trapped water can do all kinds of damage on bricks etc... Just asking....Jean

Oh thanks Rebecca but it all looks tacky to me not neat and methodical like Ryan's work. I must admit though that it is very relaxing making these pots and so satisfying to use them on our Neos it just makes more special.

You must just jump in and give it a try that is what I did. Read both of these threads, look at some YouTube videos and wander around the hobby store. If you have questions we are here to try to answer them. I know I will never make them to sell there is no time and they look crappy. Lol

No Jean it is not porous I have never worked with any kind of clay before but I like this stuff. My biggest irritation is finding a good mold. I have been using tea light candle holders. Ryan told me to wrap the glass holder (your mold) entirely in foil and it will slip out easily after you bake it in the kitchen oven. I used a water based acrylic paint but you really don't have to do a lot of painting as the clay comes in great colors. I just like trying to paint them up and make them feminine.....for me.
Enjoy!

This thread reminds me of my long gone grandmother on my mother's side. She was an avid gardener with an expansive rooftop container garden, but she was also into various arts and crafts including ceramics. She actually had a kiln in her house!

No one in my family past or present is terribly creative. In fact I'd say none are! Lol. My creativity I suppose comes from my farm background and my desire to learn and be cultured. That and I like pretty and or shiny things. Who doesn't?

I admire your pots and talent and the speed at which you are turning them out. At the rate you are going, you will be selling them on ebay in no time *keeping my fingers crossed*.
