I just put the base coat on a boring fukiran pot that I'm re-painting. Once it dries, I'll do the fun part

While scouting for supplies for my possible future pot, I had an idea. I cant paint anything besides stick figures so I was thinking what if I buy some japanese stickers, stick it on after the pot is done and then glaze with some clear or milky glass coat over the stickers.. hmhmhm Asian 22 Eight Japanese Art Stickers Hiroshige Kiitsu Shigenaga Text | eBay

You could try that! Or, you could do what's called a transfer. Basically you get an image printed on a laser printer (as opposed to an inkjet) and use alcohol to transfer the image to the uncured clay. It's the same concept as newsprint rubbing off onto silly putty.

No, I am NOT an engineer. Formerly trained in biology, but I went on to fly for the USAF for several years, and now I work for a large aircraft manufacturing company-- but I don't manufacture them myself. lol I manage a large team of very technical people but never considered myself a technical person. I'm actually leaving my position now for another.

I am however, deep down inside, a farm boy. And I like the challenge of overcoming obstacles or barriers through means I already have but may not yet know it.

If you think any of this neo pot stuff is "engineering" wait until you see my humidifier set up! It's a little... out-of-the-box.

Smile, you are full of ideas and know how to make things happen. I am sure you are good at all that you do. The glass globes and bottles with hinges and just phenomenal. So your new humidifier will be a marvel. Thanks for inspiring the Board several of us are now making pots. Renessance Man
