Could it maybe be because your pot is glazed, so it can't wick moisture like an unglazed clay pot, or dry like a pot with a large hole or cutouts?

Not sure. I have a fickle relationship with moss! The pots my neos are in have a huge hole in the bottom, and with the net pot, I feel it would be open enough to dry more evenly, however, I do tuck the moss strands in pretty tight to make sure its secure in the pot. The roots of the neos are never soaking wet any more now that I have repotted them in this traditional way.
My other new neo has sprouted new root tips on existing roots and I think the fans are growing again so at least one neo is now out of rest. I need to figure out my grow situation for them, though, because if they do want that rest period, I need to chill their grow area more, which means they'll likely grow in the solarium where it can get into the 60s. Although, the neo clump I have growing in sh did nothing for a few months when I brought them inside after summer and now they're growing like weeds. I want to separate a few fans to give to a friend but don't know where to start... They really grow close together!

Ah man! I came home last night to find my bottle broken! It's was really just the door. Not sure what happened but maybe it got bumped by someone and it fell over. I had another bottle that was cracked that I used to make a new door. So we are back in business!

I am glad your bottle could be fixed. My plants get knocked over sometimes, too.
Some of my neos took a rest this winter while others engaged in rapid growth. Clearly, some didn't get the message.
Let us know how the dividing goes! Good luck!

My 3 year old has become increasingly interested in my plants and she likes to water them now! I let her water the big ones on the floor that grow in sh so she has no chance of overwatering them.
I got a jar terrarium today to test out. I hope to put two to three traditionally potted Neos and sedirea inside. It's clear I can't keep them in my main grow area as the temps won't be a long term solution for Neos. If they like their rest and cool period, they'll need to go into my solarium that can get cold enough for them in the winter. But without the humidifer. They'll need the extra help which will be these modified wine bottles and this small terrarium.

Many, many years ago, my oldest decided to water my plants every day with her little watering can. Oops.

I can't believe you can cut and drill glass like that!
It's going to look beautiful when it blooms in that bottle. I love bottle gardens.
