The Fukiran Society of America invites you to join us at the Japanese orchid judging event to be held at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Orchid Society (SEPOS) International Show & Sale April 12-14, 2013 at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Dexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
The Judging event will take place on Sunday, April 14, at 12:30 PM.
Interested growers are encouraged to bring their Neofinetia falcata (Fukiran) plants to enter into judging. Plants will be judged in the traditionsal Japanese method and prizes will be awarded for the top 5 plants.
The event is supported by the Japanese Fukiran Society and Seed Engei. It is included in the lecture series of the SEPOS International Orchid Show.

Cheers.

I had no idea there were PRIZES involved. Do those prizes include any chi-ching?
I work that weekend and can't get out of it. Otherwise I would want to attend as there is a plant I do want to enter this year.

Awesome! I don't think mine is show worthy, but would there be any learning benefit from entering it?

Bob, how about meeting and mingling with nice people? Since Seed-Engei will be there, I'm guessing Satomi will be one of the judges so you can learn from her and perhaps my Neo-sensai from Boston will be there, too. DelawareJim has to going as well. He's a very nice guy!

I plan on attending. But I'm not sure it's worth submitting my Fukiran for judging or if it would just be a waste of everyone's time. It's in a pretty pot...
