Nice green. It may produce slightly larger flowers if it is still a small growth, but I know what you mean about the large flowers on amami types, ... my Kokkouden is in bloom.

Thanks It is the first bloom for this plant - I'm not disappointed by the bloom size, I just am used to the bigger Neo, and until I got some smaller varieties, really did not know how much bigger Amami Island is! Blooms, fans - they're all much bigger! lol

Ooo - have you posted any photos of yours?

Gorgeous blooms, I love the green! Looks like the Neo fever is spreading on OB again, it's been a couple years since there's been so many Neo threads!

thanks - I really like the green too

I know for myself at least, I wanted to see how I did with one before getting more. The one I got a couple of years ago has been doing great (has a number of spikes on it!). Got another last year - growing well, and it has what I think is a spike on it, but hasn't grown much (I don't think it's a new fan, tho possibly could be, but there is a new fan that started around the same time as the slow growing nub - and that definitely was identifiable as a new fan early on, and has grown quite a bit more than the mystery nub) They are rather ideal orchids for me - taking a wide range of temps, and LIKING to be chilly in winter, as well as not taking much space

Very attractive color, and a nice subtle change from the standard white-flowered variety.
