I've had this plant for a few years now. It seems to grow well with the traditional sphag mound method. It blooms in late March / early April. It readily develops a reddish pigment on the leaves when grown in strong light.
The first pic shows the buds from this year. The pigmentation of the upper leaves disappeared very quicky during flowering. Unfortunately I was moving house at the time and didn't take a photo, but I have substituted a photo of last year's flowers.
The pollen caps seem to dislodge very easily on my plant and it is prone to self-fertilising. Eleven flowers this year produced 8 pods. I cut five of these off and will let the remaining 3 mature. Camille, email me if you want one of these sent to you.
