2 neos and a sedirea
I'm working on growing my collection! I have fallen in love with a these Japanese orchids. I, also, have a Cymbidium goeringii with tiger stripe but that's for another day. My first Neo, a seed grown seedling with 3 growths, is Kinroukaku. It has all-over tiger stripe. Next, is Onamisecai. It is 2 divisions with 1 growth each. There is some vairegation on the new leafs (I don't know if this is common). Yes, i know it's not in a moss mound. I want the roots to get bigger before I put it in a mound. I had gotten it mounted and it never did very well. It has been in the net pot for a week and the roots have doubled in length! Finally, my sedirea "Minmarusime" which i love! It grows extremely well and fast for me. No spike yet, but I'm think next year it should bloom for me.

Yea, it's one of my favorites too. The first neo is actually the smallest of the group. The clay pot is as big as my thumb and I have small hands, haha.

Wjs, I am pretty sure the second plant you have is not Oonami Seikai: it does no have the typical arched leaves of Oonami seikai, it seems to have variegated leaves (Oonami does not) and the tsuke doesn't look like a typical wave of Oonami either.
here is a picture of a typical Oonami seikai
Otherwise your plants look good, happy growing!

No worries, Bill. I won't hunt you down.
Nice! Who did you get Oonamisekai and Minmarushima from?

Onamisecai, I got from Andy's orchids. Maybe the tag is wrong? Any ideas?

It's almost impossible to find out for sure what variety it is. I would call up Andy's and ask exactly where they got the plant from.
I can't see very clearly on the pics but it looks like this is a yellow on green/ lime green shima variegated, regular leaf shape type. So if you examine the axis color, tsuke type and root tip color, you might be able to narrow it down to several varieties. Unfortunately, it's pretty unlikely to find out for sure unless Andy's is able to find out from the grower they got this from.
Anyhow, it does not have a ton of yellow so it may grow faster than Kinroukaku and give you a nice clump in a few years.

Yeah, I think so, it was going to be a 3 growth clump 2 years ago but the new growth died on he mount. Now that it's potted i think i should see new grow with those happy roots. The variegation is also just on one side of the leaf and not both. The variegation has just started to come out. For the pass 3 years it has always just been green. The third fan was growing fast, so I'm hoping each disivion will get a new fan this year.
Tracy, i actually found the Minmarushima from orchids limited. It was the only one they had, kind of buried, and I paid a fair price!
Now I just need to get some more moss to mound stuff.
