Nice choice and nice plants ! They are a good size so should bloom soon. They look like plants from Seed Engei, aren't they?

Rangiku - you are totally right! I have to go pay them a visit... I would love to watch them in action. I hear that there are a couple of hundred neos and masdies in their collection. That alone would be worth it. Thanks for the tip on the meeting - I've missed the last few because of work and I would have shown up on the wrong day for sure. Yup, they came from Lymann. Lynn is a fantastic resource (for that matter, Julie and Rachel too).

S. Kallima,

I don't know where they came from - I bought them from a local reseller here in Massachusetts. Could be sourced from anywhere. I'll ask the greenhouse staff next time I'm there and report back.

Judi,

This 2-part video should get its own sticky in the Neo forum on this site. Does anyone know who we can talk to about this? Rosie? Camille? The videos are so straight forward and informative. It should be "required reading" for people starting with these little orchids.

Thanks again you guys.

- J

JR, s. kallima is correct: your neos are from Seed Engei. Lucky you!

Interesting. Thank guys. I tried to view the website at work and it triggered the office's firewall - which is ordinarily reserved for... adult themed websites. What do they sell at SE other than Neos?!!!!

Ha!

Can't wait to check it out at home.

Hey J, not only are your neos from Seed-Engei, but they were newly remounded by our Japanese OS member when they came in.

Those Neos were part of the spring sale that started on April 13th. How did you know to get there so early, huh? I thought I was sneaky and showed up on the 12th and got Kinroukaku and Suruga-fukurin. Setsuzan is on my wish list.

Well done! I'm at Lymann all the time. Turns out the neo shipment was unpacked and put on display the day before I got there. Dumb luck.

I went on Sat. and came home with a beautiful Asian cymbidium and the cutest little Prom. chameleon. They had a bulbo grandiflorum that was in amazing shape - I really wanted to take it home, but couldn't stand the thought of another daily-water orchid. They also had a kovachii hybrid that was begging me to take it home.... but I'm just too cheap to drop $60 on a tiny phrag.

See you tomorrow!

I was worried about these two because I haven't been able to water in about 2 weeks. So imagine my surprise when I was soaking these through today and noticed that they were both throwing spikes. How do I prevent them from blasting? Neos are still fairly new to me and I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

-J

Water when necessary and try to keep the humidity up. I'm sure they will be fine. Hope to see them on the show table in two weeks.
