Ok I don't mean to embarrass anyone or single out or any of that... This post is meant in the same spirit as the one that got me this plant.

A while back I expressed interest in a beautiful Neo Bud from NYC grows. Well when he repotted the plants, he saved a few fans for me.... And then potted them up really nicely... And then sent them to me! I got hem on Xmas eve and though it was darn cold the plants seem just fine.

So thank you, Bud! You're really something and to take such care really is touching. Thank you!

Ryan

You are most welcome Ryan...I am glad it arrived happy and healthy...I specifically bundled it up so not to freeze(you forewarned me of the weather)...The adult plant has just bloomed(the old spike is still there=you may cut it off)and the two keikis that might bloom in a couple of years=but the adult plant will bloom in 4 months...that is potted the old samurai way with a smaller claypot inverted inside and I fanned the roots around the inverted claypot and covered it with moss...Good Luck!

Thank You, Silken

Bud et al.,

My neo dries out quickly and I let it dry completely before watering again but I still end up watering nearly every day. Is this ok? Or should I be watering it so that it doesn't dry out completely?

I water mine only once a week--when the sphag is crisp. I have read that they like a rest in the winter, so I don't water again even if the medium is a bit crunchy by mid-week. They seem to do well on this schedule...When they are outside in the summer, I water every couple of days, depending on the weather. Good luck with yours... They're great little plants!!

I do mine like yours, Pilot, in a vase. I pretty much water daily. Sometimes every other day--mostly daily, though.

My atmosphere is very arid.
