That is fantastic ! You will not have to spray them everyday in summer...NJ is as hot and humid as Manhattan from mid-June to mid September...all you need is to slightly open your window and have an ocillating fan do the job...and once a week soak is good with fertilizer...acrylic spray? that is good to know so I dont have to deal with drying my windowsill whenever I spray my plants

Wow! This is an ingenious, clean-cut, and beautiful set-up! I agree that dedicated plant lights are usually unattractive. The frame idea is fantastic, especially when those guys start blooming!

Haha, for your windowsill, I would probably try to find some more furniture grade waterproofing, the acrylic spray is good for the mats in a frame, but it may not take the wear and tear on a window sill. Plus it's probably still a good idea to wipe it down anyway if your sill is obviously wet.

Your Neos look great potted up in the correct traditional way. They look quite stunning. I have been trying to get hold of some of those Japanese style pots for my 2 Neos but sadly those pots don't seem to be available in Australia which is very disappointing because you need them to get the right look. If anybody knows if they are available in Oz please please let me know.

That might just be the nicest orchid set up I've ever seen for someone's living space. It looks as though it's straight out of some design magazine. Do you consult? You should! I would love to see an instructables on how you put the shadow boxes together....

Thanks so much for sharing!

Really elegant and beautiful set-up! I'm also an indoor grower, and this is very inspirational. I've had similar ideas about using frames to isolate individual mounted plants, love how you've executed this.

I agree with everyone else...what an inspiration. I have a Schillie that is quite large like the one in the photo but it suffered a huge setback recently....hope to have it blooming like mad again soon.
