Default Bricking it...

I decided that I would use Neofinetia falcata 'Nanghwasaja' to mount on a brick I got off the beach a couple of weeks ago. I think it works...

I love the look. Keep us up to date on how it works out. A lady that I know here in south florida has grown several orchids on concrete blocks. Good luck.

Thank you! I'll certainly post more pics as it grows.

Cool brick! Are the orchid and moss stuck down in the hole in the middle?

very ineresting look. I'll ask the obvious (or maybe not) question-what did you do to remove the salt from the brick?

Yes, the moss and roots were put into the remaining hole. I found the brick some distance from the waters edge so it's had lots of rain as well as being soaked for just over two weeks. Once it establishes itself it will look considerably better than the freshly planted look.

Did you do anything to get rid of the salt build-up? If it comes from the beach it must be salty.

Yes, I mentioned in the post prior to yours that it had been soaked for over two weeks with the water being changed daily. Since it is a small brick I hope that that was long enough.
