Default Neofinetia falcata, a few flowers...

This is my Neo growing in semi-hydroponic since a few years now.
This year was great, 2 spikes per growth, 5 growths... close to sixty flowers in total. For the first time I had a spike with 7 flowers

enjoy!

What a beautiful show. I'll bet the fragrance was great as well. It obviously loves the care its getting! Is this the shuttenou variety by any chance? I've been trying to find one I can afford for a while now
Good Growing,
Tony

Tony, no it is an unknown variety, the color is very light pink, not as dark as shutennou.
The fragrance was indeed fantastic at the peak of blooming !!!
If you are looking for Shutennou, you should look at seed engei ebay store (items in japaneseorchids store on eBay!), she often has some for auction, and they are very nice ! (got 2 from her this summer for very reasonable price).

What a stunning display of blooms! Now that's what a Neo should look like. Fantastic photography as well, I especially like the third one. I should try Neos again, they are too gorgeous to not give them a try. I had 3 of them but long story short, they died a long drawn out death.

Thanks much, Yes, I do keep my eye on seed engei, but when I look they're usually wanting 30-45 bucks for one. A friend recently got 2 from one of their auctions for 20 bucks for both, (one shutennou and one Higashidemiyako!), pretty sweet.
Again, really nice growing, you have a beautiful Neo, there.
Cheers,
Tony

Gorgeous blooms! I think I may have to try one in semi-hydro....looks like a good excuse to buy another one to experiment with....I couldn't possibly experiement with one I already have...lol. Great pictures by the way!

@ Tony....take the plunge and get one ! Higashidemiyako is a nice one too!

Otis, depends on how small a plant you're willing to get. I got my Shutennou from Seed Engei at the Longwood, PA show in March for $10. But, of course, it's in a 2" AirCone pot and hasn't filled it out yet !!!!

HA! "A few flowers" eh? Showoff.

But a display like that deserves showing off! Spectacular!
