I thought it was Neo, not vasco, because all the online search results told me so.
Anyway, mine are losing flowers after about three weeks, so I'm guessing it's normal since yours last about a week or so.
Currently, I have it in a bathroom simply because there's no room left for anything. I should have some space under my LED setting as soon as one of my phals spike gets too tall and I get that one out of the LED set up.
LED works great by the way! I hope my Neo will grow well under LED. will find out soon.
Oh what LED lights do you have? Any particular kind you recommend? I am about to move plants into my basement and out of the solarium due to various reasons and I'd like to limit the electric use. I also plan on running lights off peak since I can. The basement has windows but is quite dark. I'd like to use my solarium as a more thought-out display rather than a greenhouse, of which I hope to have one within the year! It'll be meant for growing vegetables and fruit during our winter but I won't deny it... It'll be filled with orchids too.

Ryan, I bought mine from here.
Charley's Greenhouse & Garden Light Fixtures & Plant Display

It is L5471 LED countertop Kitchen Garden.
I wanted to get something bigger from orchidweb.com (it's the same price) but I had to make a deal with my partner not to take up too much space, so I got this small one instead.
It fits nicely on our kitchen countertop and I currently have been growing one big phal, two mini phals, one Paph. Maudiae and one den keiki for a few months and I will have to say I am super satisfied with the results. I find orchids grow faster and healthier under this LED set up and all the phals are spiking. I will soon have to take the phals out as the flower spikes get too tall. I can adjust the height of the LED lamp, but then it reduces the amount of light plants recieve, so I will take the phals out and fit my Neo and other smaller guy under the light.
Kinda off the topic, but I'm worried if phals will have less flower counts once I take them out of the set up as I cannot give them enough light at the moment. Window space is all occupied! lol

By the way, you could get something other than LED light set up, but in the long run, LED is much more cost efficient I think. The bulbs will last for nearly 10 years and the electricity bill friendly. and it does not emit heat.
Plus, mine has automatic timer built in to it, so it is programmed to turn on at 6 am and turn off at 10 pm everyday. Even better, 15 minutes before 6 and after 10, the light gradually deems, so it doesn't "shock" the plants. lol I'm not sure if that really matters to the plants though.

I have some mini orchids (Twinkle, den, phal, paph, tolumnia) under halogen lamp all day in the last few months, and that lamp turn on and off abruptly, not gradually switching on and off like my LED lamp does.
The plants grow and flower just fine though.

Thanks for the info! But why did you go with the small one when you are clearly providing a benefit to your parented? Lol if ever there was a duh moment. Lol I kid of course. My wife is he same way... The plants are nice by her measure but they need to be kept at bay. I admit, though, that my collection keeps growing! Oh well!

I thought about that too. that will also have to be discussed and approved though.
I think I want to install a thin line along the upper portion of the window and hang all of my Tolumnia and other not so heavy plants like Neo once I move to a new place next year.

That's the best thing about orchids...in general you can figure out a way to grow them effectively without them being so unwieldy. I have two tolumnias myself, and they live inside two thin glass vases...they take up almost no room at all and yet give an interesting presentation all the while being very functional (humidity and warmth etc).

I currently have nothing hanging in my solarium but I hope to in the future. I actually have to go to Ikea to get some supplies to help organize the room. Lots of clean lines and function spaces is what I want!
