would you terribly mind posting a pic of your vanda & its vase? I'm trying that too. My seedlings atre putting out roots & leaves. The trichoglottis is outting out some new leaves & roots.

How is the S/H going for the falcata?

Inquiring minds want to know....

I will as soon as I can. I'm not currently there to see them at the moment.

The falcata seems fine...has put on new fans and such but it does seem to be a very slow grower! Are they always this slow? I started off with one small fan about a year or more ago.

I'll get pics soon.

Ryan- I love the picture of your neostylis. Could you tell me the exact name of it if you have the tag? I know most neostylis is white, so this one must be some kind of hybrid? Regardless, I'd like to get one someday. so knowing the name would help me.

Thank you for sharing your tip on how to keep the roots from drying out. I should try that one. So do you keep the roots bare with no media in between other than keeping them covered with damp cloth?

I have Fuchs Ocean Spray. got it about two weeks ago. It was very cute and smelled so good that I just brought it home without knowing how to take care of it. lol
It has two small flower spikes, but it is loosing flowers now. I don't know if it is not happy in my condition or just following its course. How long does yours stay in bloom for?
Do they need to be moist all the time? How much light are you giving it? I like the color of the leaves on yours.
As shown in the picture, mines got very light green with purple around the edge, which I think is the reaction to too much light. Light green might just be normal for this particular type also? not sure..

Last, does anyone know what Vasco stands for? The tag says Vasco Fuchs Ocean Spray. I know most online sources I looked up says it's neostylis Fuchs Ocean Spray.

The tag says Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Bluebird'. The plant's color is highly dependent on temperature, or so I've noticed. If there is a sizable difference between night and day temps with night temps in the 60s and to a lesser degree, the importance of temps in the day in the 70 or 80s. My climate offers this readily. I think with my care, it's able to bloom multiple times a year because even in our summers, with our dessert like climate, I get these temp differences and so the plant blooms as if fall has come!

My blooms will last a week or so....not as long as some of my phals last. I try to keep my plant moist all the time, but it can be difficult, which is why I use the dampened cloth. And no, the roots are bare...no medium! I give my plant high light...2500 to 3500 foot candles, but that's just a guess. It's in the southern area of my solarium, so it get sun from 9 or so on to sunset. It is behind glass so the sun isn't full blast but it does seem to be sun loving, hence my use of Mylar in the summer, too.

I can't say for sure if your is getting too much light but you won't set it back if you experiment and move it to a less intense location. Give it a try!

Vasco stands for Vascostylis which indicates that plant also has Vanda and Ascocenda in its parentage.
There is no Vascostylis registered with Fuchs Ocean Spray, only Neostylis, so your tag probably has a typo.
By the way, one of the parents of Neostylis Fuchs Ocean Spray is Neostylis Lou Sneary .

Thanks, everyone!
I thought it was Neo, not vasco, because all the online search results told me so.
Anyway, mine are losing flowers after about three weeks, so I'm guessing it's normal since yours last about a week or so.
Currently, I have it in a bathroom simply because there's no room left for anything. I should have some space under my LED setting as soon as one of my phals spike gets too tall and I get that one out of the LED set up.
LED works great by the way! I hope my Neo will grow well under LED. will find out soon.
