I lived in Japan for six years but wasn't into orchids at that time. Great info.....do you mind if I use for one of our programs? You see, we (6) started a little orchid club which now has about 25 members and I am program chair for the time being.

I got hooked about a year ago and I now have three Neos and seventeen hybrids. I believe my favorite is Renenetia Sunrise (Neofinetia falcata x Renanthera imschootiana). It is a bright orange/red with branched inflorescence and it blooms multiple times throughout the year with long lasting flowers. Another that I find pretty exciting to grow is Rumrillara Sugar Baby (Neo. Lou Snearhy x Asctm. miniatum). It has a very tight, long inflorescence of pink flowers and the flower count is very high. The problem I found with trying to collect them is that they are very difficult to find.

I am hooked as well. I have an order coming from New World Orchids, they will ship to Canada, in April. I am excited, there is so many to choose from, but I narrowed it down to four.

I'm hooked
I only have two right now but I really want a bean leaf type and the tiger stripe type. I just looked at my Neo. falcata and it has a new leaf and an new fan popping out or a spike UFN it's an unidentified NUBBIN!! (sorry Dorothy)

I have one mounted in my orchidarium, but not in spike,it has some new growth, I also was able to buy a flask that I was able to plant about 20 plantletts into a compot. I just love the shape of the flower.
I plan on attending the San Diego Orchid show next weekend and hope to pick up some more of different colors or leaf shapes.

Attended my local orchid society meeting tonight. They had a workshop on mounting and Neofineta falcata x self seedlings were what they had. One of them still had a bloom and it looked like it was pure white. Time will tell. Thanks for the background.
