So who was the lucky bidder for 'Manjushage' on eBay?
So who was the lucky bidder for 'Manjushage' on eBay?
Quite a flurry of bidding at the end.
Cheers.

could have been also a buddy biddin it up and he ended up with his own plant
Ive seen that happen where they were inflating the bids nefariously with other ID's and ended up eating it themselves getting greedy ..another reason I leave ebay alone not to mention getting mugged years ago for 800 bucks that I got a sympathy letter and 200 dollars back from ebay..They can kiss my nut collection..I am a squirrell after all

I was going to say, who was really the lucky one here with that price tag - the buyer, or the seller? WOW! I would never pay that much for an orchid unless it washed the dishes and put away laundry!

There are some vendors where I see this routinely; called shill bidding and it's illegal on ebay.
There is one I suspect of this which would shock people but I will not publicly accuse.
I have just a few vendors I consider purchasing from when I look.
Ebay's system of complaints etc. is fairly ineffective as well.
As always, buyer beware!

I do a lot on ebay. Orchids and other stuff. For me the key is to do a bit of research and don't get caught up in the frenzy. I have a few vendors I have no worries buying from and the rest I am very cautious. It can be a great place to find things cheaper or to find cheap things if not careful.

Didn't Jason have this plant for sale for $1,800 last year? And Seed Engei has a Ryokuho-no-shima for $1,200.
Makes $365 sound down right cheap! Hey, dollar down, dollar a day.
Cheers.

I have one rule about Ebay, I place my highest bid, when I bid, or what I feel it is worth plus the shipping, then I wait till the end and see. Some people have more trow away money than they know what to do with.
If I'm going to spend that much money on one plant I will buy direct from a vendor that I know.
