Setsuzan is a tiger stripe. The variegation runs across the leaf instead of along it's length.

There were a few running around your club earlier this year. I scored Setsuzan and Yagiri from a member who was selling them at the Stauffers show last October.

Cheers.
Jim

I didn't know you came! I was there Sunday. And yea, I saw the neos the other person had. I got a setsuzan at the same place where they got theirs.

I was actually wondering about how in minnesnowta's second post with pics, under the first pic he wrote something about a needle leaf variety. What classifies it as needle leaf, how could I tell.

Do you know what setsuzan is? In leaf shape.

'Gekkeikan' ('Laurel Crown') - Won 2nd place in Misc. Orchid category at DGFS Flower Show not in-bloom.

'Benisuzume' ('Red Sparrow') - Heavy bubblegum fragrance. AWESOME!!! Root tips turn dark burgundy too.

Congrats on the ribbon! The bloom on the Benisuzume is really nice!

It looks like you're getting quite a collection going... I sure couldn't stop at one once I got started...

Do you keep them evenly moist or let them dry out?

I wait until they get crispy before I mist again during the growing season. In the winter, they can stay crispy longer before watering.
