Default custom made neo hanger & another weird neo

What could be better than having good friends?

Having good friends who are super talented and uber handy.

I needed a neo hanger for a few baby and mini neos I have in smaller pots. My friend, Roland, custom designed this using those Japanese metal hangers as a model. He bought materials and constructed this whole thing by hand.

My Neofinetia falcata 'Kochounomai' finally bloomed this year successfully. This is one of those varieties with the irregular flower shape. Only one blasted bud this time. A late spiker every year but worth it, in my opinion. Very fragrant as well.

I can't figure out how to embed the photos and video from flickr ever since they changed their format. So had to post the links. Thanks for looking.

Tracy,
On Flickr under 'Share This' above the photo, select 'Grab the HTML/BBCode' and in the drop-down menu select 'BBCode' and the size you want. Copy and paste to OB and that's all there is to it.

And great growing with the Neo.

Ron, I tried that about 6 times but it did not work. After I choose 'grab html/bbc code' there is no option to choose just bbc. it just says to copy and paste. I give up now.

Thumbs up

Pretty flowers! And I love the hanger. I recently purchased two Neofinetia. This is the first I am learning that they are of the Vandaceous.
I did read that they prefer shadier conditions and to be almost dry but not moist. Is this true? I recently had to repot one of my new acquisitions because the roots were getting furry ><.
However, both have put out multiple new growths so I think I am doing alright by them...
Thanks for sharing! It inspires me but it does scare the bank and friends a little bit (my inspiration, I mean ^^).
I hope my new 'chids will bloom as pretty as yours!!!
