Default "Monster" Neo - one spike, several nubbies ...

I found this Neo at Summerwinds Nursery - retail nursery and gardening supplies ... mid-June ...
They frequently have very nice orchids, but I was still very surprised to find a Neo. there! I wasn't intending to buy any orchids - I had ridden my bike there ... but of course, I had to look while I was there Usually, I think they pull orchids off the shelf when they are done blooming. I think this one was missed due to it's small size amongst so many other larger orchids.

This plant had two dead spikes on it, so I asked for, and got a discount Since there were no spikes, and with it's size, I could get this home in my backpack

I counted fans when I got home, and there are TEN! (a few still on the small size, but most are quite good sized)
I also noticed a few nubbies - not been sure if they were spikes or new fans ...
Since repotting this a couple of weeks ago (I had to carefully cut away the pot ) - a previously unnoticed nubbie - was hidden behind another fan - became quite noticeable, and now I can confirm it's a spike! The previously noticed nubbies haven't grown much - tho I do think at least a couple are likely to be spikes - and I just yesterday noticed, by looking down at the plant, a couple new nubbies, one of which is in a leaf axis above a leaf axis with remains of an old spike, so I think that may be a spike ...
Most of these nubs are not possible for me to photograph - tucked into leaf folds still, or behind other fans, so I guess I just need to wait and see ... But pretty excited with one spike even - especially since I got this plant discounted for being "done" blooming!

First pic is when I first brought this home - others from today ...
