Striking blooms. Nice work.
My wife is a math teacher and would love that you used the word "tessellations" to describe the patters.
Thanks for sharing.

Richard,
This is the first time I am seeing this hybrid. Where did you get your plant from?

i dont know if i can list vendor names on this site so i'll say i got it at a vendor in south florida. he had gotten them from thailand as seedlings. as far as i know, i bought the remaining 6 plants. i wish he had more. i really like this cross. its a very healthy grower and the flowrs scent is very strong. i have 2 crosses. one with the standard purple/brownish tessellata and the other alba tessellata which is pale yello/green.

Well, for future reference you will find many things posted here that you may not find on other sites. This is a very open forum. As long as you are not being offensive it is pretty much anything goes. It is great to disagree as long as it does not get out of hand.
So they came out of Thailand.

I just got one of these in march at the central fl orchid society show. It has previously bloomed, but I did not have it then. I think I paid $25 for it and the grower is called smiley's orchids. I don't have her website handy but she does alot of selling in eBay and you could probably find her through google.
