This is my newest orchid. I love the foliage; the way it grows and it's texture are very neat. Just wanted to know what you all thought, and if anyone had a guess on it's maturity?

Looks good. I don't know how many years it's been alive but I know for certain it is mature enough to bloom. Whether or not it DOES bloom will most likely be determined by your TLC and culture

Thanks Jim and Tracy. I've completely caught the Neo. bug now... Not sure if I'm going to be able to keep myself from filling my growing area with them. Glad to know that this one is mature enough to bloom...

Any tips on culture or possible spiking triggers? I've read quite a bit now, and I plan on giving this one a cooler and drier winter, since that is said to help with growing.

The cooler drier winter is the best trigger you can give it.

I think they have a better chance of blooming if the winter night temps can get down to 50's. Although some varieties seem to bloom without as much effort as long as it gets enough light. Basically, lots of light along with high temps = keep it more on the wet side. Less light with lower temps = keep it on the dry side. In the winter, you can let it completely dry out before watering again but just water lightly. In the summer, you can drench the mound when temps are higher and light is brighter. Probably should wait till the outside of the mound is dry and the pot feels lighter. If you grow it in moss, it will not need a crapload of fertilizer.

You'll love the fragrance when it blooms and you'll do just fine, with your years of bonsai experience. I have faith in you.
