Hello All, I wonder if anyone has used cocnut fiber as a medium to grow neo's in? I have been thinking of trying it and also perhaps a coconut fiber rope to wrap the roots to the air cones that Marissa sells..... Any thoughts?
I think it depends on where you live and what kind of environment you're growing in, Glen. I'm in MN where, the humidity is VERY low in the winter. The grower at my local nursery tried lots of different growing medium for the neos when he first started importing them several years ago. He found that moss worked the best (at least where we are). The coconut fiber was too dry (for here).
I have a couple in coconut fiber and doing well, but, as tracy it all depends on where you live. I am in So. Georgia where it is very humid. Must water more often.
