I've been working on my wish list over the winter and getting ready for the spring frenzy.

31 plants. Guess I'll have to work another year to two.

And if Marlene doesn't divorce me I'll be Glenn's new best friend!

Me too, I've been planning my Neo shopping spree!

I have a list (of 'cheap' Neos), but somehow have to pick only 2.... Can't wait for Glenn's next trip to Europe!! I'm also going to get a Den moniliforme I think, and a Sedirea japonica

I see lots of pink. I don't see any variegated bean leaf so tell Marlene she has no grounds for killing you. Yet.

My list this year is short but enough to make me eat crackers for dinner every day.

You both have some nice plants on your lists. Are you going to try to get any as project plants? I need to jump on board before I miss out, again.

Yes, I wasn't just hibernating during the winter.

Lots of pink. The list is long but distinguished. There's no way I can get all these this year. When I priced it out, it was almost $1,800!

But I can dream! So the list will reside and evolve on my computer over time. I'll probably pick up 2 or 3 this spring, and maybe 1 or 2 more if any happen to jump into my basket during the year.

Still not sure about those yellows and greens yet. I'm sure when I see one in person that'll change.

Variegated bean-leaf?!?! Haven't seen one of those yet.

Nope, no project plants for me. I'm starting to run out of space and sanity so I'll only be getting my 'must haves' this year.

Jim, Satomi (Seed Engei) does have a small, 1 growth, variegated bean leaf, 'Ryokuhou-no-Shima' for $1000. You know, just in case you guys are interested. It probably has a whole 2 leaves on it.

I hope it's ok if I jump in here. Question—where do you Neo-Nuts (I say that affectionately especially since I'm one too) generally find pictures of some of these more exotic Neos? I always check out Orchids Ltd. website as well as going out to the nursery, and I look at New World's list, but, of course they don't all have pics. Other than that I only find sporadic info and pics available. I'll appreciate any help.

Cathie, I find alot of pictures on Japanese websites. Then there are pics in those Japanese fuukiran books that Jason and Glenn sell, also. I ordered one from Glenn last summer, with the names translated. I also have a Seed Engei catalog I can bring to the next OSM meeting so you can take a look.

I didn't think the books Jason sells had the names in English. The one you got from Glenn—it has English names? Lots of pictures? I'd love to see the catalog you mentioned. I'll see what I can find about it online to familiarize myself with it. Do you use the 5A sphag for your Neos? It's really been hard to come by this past year. Last year I bought some from Glenn but I hate to pay shipping on something like that (even if it is light). Jason said he hopes to have some early March. Hope it comes through.

BYW I figured out who you are—you're very tiny with a smile almost as big as you, right? Jason sent you our way, I think.

Cathie, Jason has one Japanese book with the English names. It's the one in the glass case by the register. The book I got from Glenn does not have the English names listed in the book itself. Glenn's translator, made a list of the translations. That list comes with the book.

I've used 5A and 4A. The 5A does have longer strands but I find that, unless I have a neo the size of a baby's head, I don't really need the 5A. The 4A is just fine and Jason has it in stock now. Do you prefer the 5A? If you want to order it from Glenn, let me know, maybe we can order together and split the shipping.
