Neo richardsiana and xichangensis
Hi Group,
Are there any growers out there that have these plants in cultivation?? Ive been looking for pics of N xichangensis and there is absolutely nothing on the net!
Are there any sources who have plants available of the two above mentioned species?
Kind Regards,
Craig Gibbon

for Neo richardiana: IOSPE PHOTOS
http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/...a_richards.JPG
NWO had some plants in the past, which were suspected to be this species. They were sold out very quick!!
as per Neo. xichangensis, this a newly described species, and do not think many plants would be in private collections. It should be very similar to Neo. richardiana, and after reading the article in Acta Bot. Yunnanica (to be found here THE NEOFINETIA WEB 富貴蘭 ) I would not be surprised if in the future it is just considered a sub-especies of it. As for me and my experience in Plants Systematics, the differences do not seem strong enough to support a different species status.

I do grow richardsiana and not yet had a bloom. I do not see any difference in the growth habits yet either.

When I made my most recent order with NWO (late Nov to early Dec), he said they were going to Japan to restock in February. You might try contacting him to make a special request, I think they do that.

FYI
Dr. Glenn Lehr (from NWO) has sent a message beginning of the year. He is leaving to Japan on Feb., 8th. If you want to make an order, you should do it in January.

Hi All,
Thanks for all the info and links! It looks as if N xichangensis isn't in cultivation as yet!
I would love to order from NWO, but I doubt very much that he would send to South Africa!!

Glenn is just recently back from Japan so he may be trying to catch up. I would email him again if it has been more than a week. Glen

Kate;
Visit his website here:
New World Orchids
You can look through the listing of plants, some with pics, then give him a call to order.
Cheers.
