A real beauty. I just recently purchased a seedling. Can't wait for it to bloom. How large was your plant when it first bloomed? The one that I ordered only has about a 4" leaf span so it may be a while yet.

Oh, it was a nice sz when I got it with a couple of extra fans-maybe a 6" or so--just guessing of course but it bloomed in the next cycle from more than one grwth.It was the plant's 1st blooming when I got it to bloom.They grow fairly quickly ( for me)

Looks like I may have to wait for a year or two on my plant to bloom. I have several other Neofinetia hybrids that I am hoping will fill in the gap during the interim. All of them are recently acquired plants but were purchased as blooming size so they should bloom if I can keep them healthy. Thanks for the info.

This is an old thread but just wanted to tell you that my Darwinara Charm has made its second beautiful spike in the last three months and you are right LI Jane, they do grow fairly quickly. I have at least a half dozen fans on my plant now. Oh, it is also pungently perfumed.

Hello everyone,
I have one of these that has been growing along just fine. It began to spike and I was thrilled but it blasted last weeks. It has two other blasted spikes from before it was mine. Any tips, hints, wisdom?

I have Neostylis Lou Sneary that budded about six times and blasted before blooming. It finally recovered from the problem and blooms regularly now. When it was struggling, the root system was not very good. I stopped the daily watering and went to twice a week. (growing in an open basket) The root system took off and it is now a great little plant.

I re-potted mine in a plastic slatted see-through pot with styrofoam peanuts at the bottom in a mix of coco husk chunks, perilite and charcoal. The mix only makes it about half way down the pot so there is much more air movement now. It was previously densely packed in moss in a clay pot. There was a significant amount of root rot in the center but there is lots of new root growth on top and around the edges. I think I will be able to monitor it much better now that I can see what is going on—how wet the mix is, how the roots look, in the clear container.

I'll update if anything exciting happens.
