oops! I did not see the 4 questions...so here we go
1) Who got you into Neos or how did you get into them? who else but OB?
2) Why do you love them? well... why do you love cheese cake, your husband/wife, your dog, blueberry muffins, etc? You can't tell, but you just love them... so simple
3) Which ONE in your current collection is your absolute favorite? (yes, just ONE ) hhhhmmm... not fair.... so... for the flowers: Neofinetia falcata 'Amami Furan' for the foliage: Neofinetia falcata 'Cyosentetsu Aojiku'
4) If you won the lottery today and price was no issue, which ones would you MUST have?
sorry guys, but in this case I would go back to my favorite group...

I would buy Fredclarkearas and a large order of Catasetinae from Sunset Valley and Jumbo Orchids after that, I would probably take a long holiday in Asia and would check there what they have for magnificient Neos we have not seen here

I love you guys!
Kavanaru. . .you're my hero, sneaky sneaky Sneeeeekeeeey!
I got the coolest Neofinetia pamphlet from New World Orchids yesterday (and two Japanese cloth coasters). . .LOL. . .the pamphlet is in Japanese and I can't read it (and you just KNOW it's stuff that I want to know!) BUT it does have the name of each plant!
I've been pouring over the pictures in my very few spare moments at work! OMG! There are so many beautiful varieties. . .lots with funky flowers.
Anyway, I am just thrilled to have it! I think Glenn still has a few copies left, just so you know.
So when I can, I'll be adding some new Neo. names to our sticky lists and we can start our research on them.
Did I mention that I LOVE haiku? LOL I signed up to receive a new Haiku a day and thought some of you might want to too!. . check it out if you have a moment.

Okay JIM! We're going to need to see photos of your Cryptocorynes! I just know I am going to love them and want them and have to collect them.

I really have a hard time with this thread (that's why I'm a slackard.) I really am not enthralled with Neos. They are OK - just OK. I much prefer Angraecoids. But having said that:
I started with one from Andy's Orchids (mounted) because it sort of looked cool on the web page). It wasn't. It's the one Gwen alluded to: (I really need to update this photo. It has grown so much).
Then the project orchid became Neos and I jumped (why? ) They are just OK to me. That's why I don't participate much in the Neo discussions. Mine (I bought 3 new ones from NWO) came all potted Japanese style. I have been slowly working them over to something I can handle (the robust roots all rotted or dried up) mainly small bark in air cone pots. I'll try that for a while. Guess I'm spoiled by the infrequent blooming of the Angraecoides, but when they bloom they hit you in the nose with the fragrance. These little kids hardly smell at all (for me).
Sorry for the long-winded post, but just wanted to explain.

That's okay Ross, we'll forgive you. We don't understand, but we forgive you. Actually, you're quite a trooper to participate in a project for a plant you're just okay with.
I've been meaning to ask, what's the plant and mossy cover in the hexagonal/octagonal pot on the left front in your orchidarium pic?
Cheers.

I don't have many pics of my own plants but these are examples of a few I do grow...
Cheers.

well--- you forced me to do it! I gave a single simple clear efficient answer and you insisted I should respond to all your questions
no, really... I think for neos, you have to differentiate between favorite flowers and favorite foliage... just remember that many of them are grown for the foliage only and not the flowers

I was so sneaky that no one noticed yet that I managed to get away with two choices as well!

That's Dracula posadarum, just trying to pull out of its slump. Turns out it didn't want fertilizer. As soon as I started a diet of pure RO water it quit dropping leaves and has a few new shoots emerging. The moss is all through the tank.

Thanks. It really looks nice with the moss cover. Somehow I think it really enhances the plant and pot. Any special moss or just whatever comes up?
Cheers.
