My first Neos - Orchid Board

That is one very unusual looking arrangement. Very impressive I must say. I wish I lived in USA so I could get hold of some of interesting things you have available over there. Neos are not the rage here in Australia. To tell the truth, I am still trying to understand what this great attraction is with them in the US. Everybody dresses them up in cute little Japanese pots. Never heard of it here in Oz, but everyone on Orchid Board seems to rave about them. Can someone enlighten me - why are they so attractive. I want one now too.

Hope you enjoy your new neos, Marissa! Nice to see some more members posting in the neo forum. I don't know if everybody on OB is crazy about them. I think it's a few of us who post on here often. We're a little lonely here...

Linh, I hope there's room for me too! I've been window-shopping right now, trying to decide which one without hurting my bank account. I know I'll be kicking myself for having taken so long, once I get the first one. I did the same with Bulbos and I've since lost count how many I have.

I'm thinking of getting Darwinara Charm ‘Blue Pacific’

Hi Sandy, there's always room for more neo fans and neos

I only have neo species right now. Don't have the room for neo hybrids yet because I'm trying to save that space for my one GIANT phrag that I'll probably end up getting. I've given up on trying to find a small one. Are you looking for just neo hybrids or neo species? If you let us know your price range, I bet we can help you narrow something down

Awww, that is sad people there are not too crazy about this cutiepies. I am crazy about them right now and hoping for more diff. species specially the bean leaf one. There's an oncoming Orchid Show this month that I'm planning to go to and they have this vendor that only specializes in miniture species which I want to check out. This particular one I got from a local nursery in my area and they have a whole bunch of them, some were still blooming at the time.

I do Lin, and want more of them

especially the bean leaf kind. I don't post much because I have to crop the photos each time I post. Do you know any place or site that specializes in these little guys which have a reasonable price? I can sacrifice my lunch allowance to start my collection.

Your Neos love very nice!! I'm also one of the Neo freaks here, although I only have 2 for now! I have a HUGE wishlist though.
What I find so attractive about them is the huge variety of colors and forms. Plus, they look so cute on their little moss mounds!

I bet there is a local source in Australia! You might have to do some detective work though! But maybe one of our Austrailian members can jump in with a vendor for you?

For me, what makes the neos so interesting and so much fun to care for and collect is their history of collection and cultivation, the incredible blooms, the fragrance and the special variations!

They're small growing for the most part and are really easy to care for and they bloom easily. You can grow these on a windowsil in most climates. . .except mine. lol

And they look fabulous in special pots. . .

Check out New World Orchids here in the US. You might email Glenn Lehr to see if he knows of any local sources for you or if he goes to orchid shows there.
