Default Seikai, bean leaf type

Neofinetia falcata Seikai (Blue Ocean)
New World Orchids
  • Foliage: bean leaf.
  • Tsuke (form created at leaf connection): Ocean wave.
  • Blooms: Flowers oddly shaped and tend to face upwards, clustered together. With Pink!
  • Distinquishing feature: Very small, compact bean leaf. Very thick leaves, which curve downwards. Oddly sharped flowers. Everything about this plant is different!
  • Fragrance: Not sure yet!

Growing Conditions: Winchester, UK
  • Grown on a windowsill. (medium light)
  • Humidity: 70%- 100%
  • Temp: High 25C, Low 10C (Cool - Intermediate)
  • Really good air circulation
  • Rain water, misting daily or every few days.
  • Green Jungle Orchid Foods

(Will get more photos to add...)

I love these! They are so tiny and cute with the distinctive curve of the leaves. Mine has not bloomed but maybe next year...if it hasn't croaked yet.

Shannon, that is a great neo and the pot is fantastic with it. Love the pot, the coloring is so pretty.

Thanks guys! I really, really like this one. It is just such a cutie... but then there is the bonus of those super flowers too! I don't see a spike on this one, so maybe next year....

It's so darn cute! I'd love one of these! Have you found nice pot for it yet? I saw your other posts of all your other new babies. It must have been better than x-mas when you received the package

Camille: The Seikai is a very compact grower, super cute! It has a little "something" or other emerging out from between the second set of leaves, on the left. . .but it's super tiny.

Right below it, is a bit of sphagnum, I think. I couldn't remove it with a little soft paint brush, so I left it. LOL

The flowers should be white or light pink and quite contorted!

Now, I need a new pot for it.

I think I see the little "something" you're talking about. I hope for you that it's a spike! The flowers should be interesting to see, if they are contorted!

I hope so too!

Seems like once I see that "nubbin" though, it takes forever for it to emerge and declare itself. . .spike or new growth!

But I sure do enjoy checking everyday to see which is which!
