Just sent you a PM, Gwen. Thought you said you had this article though...maybe that was someone else. This article was in a 2006 issue of Orchid Digest.

Two more blooms...
Benisuzumi:
and Yodonomatsu:
The flowers on Yodonomatsu are really different - the spur is very short. The spike should be longer so that the flowers are out of the leaves, though. Hopefully the next blooms will be!

Jim, Those blooms are super! I'm not familiar with this variety - going now to look it up!
Thanks, LinhT! I think Yodonomatsu clumps up pretty quickly? I'm really looking forward to this getting to be a nice big multigrowth plant with bunches of spikes. I'll be in !
Lucky, No black magic, really... I did just get a nice new lens for my birthday last month - and that seems to make a difference. That and taking lots (and I mean LOTS!) of pictures of the same thing so that I can choose just the right one. Thanks for the compliments, though!!

Yep, I did hear that Pine of Yodo clumps easily so maybe you'll have lots of fans soon! I got a Houmeiden yesterday and several other "weird" looking ones. I can post some pics on this thread so you can see them, if you like. I think most people on OB will not find them all that appealing.
