Lin, The Syunkyuden is Shunkyuden - the peloric flowered one. Sometimes the names can be quite confusing, as they are just phonetic spellings of the japanese characters, so I have seen variations in spelling on quite a few different ones.

Tosabeni is another red flowered one.

I would love to find the Orchid Digest Neo article - I was going to ask at Kew the next time I go up there and see if I can get a copy of it.

As for additional light in winter, no, I don't think I will. I try to let the colour of the leaves tell me whether they're getting enough light or not. In the summer, ivy grows up and provides some shading. I cut that back when the days start to get shorter, so light actually increases in the winter. It gets bright enough for the Dens that require a winter cold/bright period to flower, so I've never really worried about it. I guess next summer will tell me whether I need to worry or not!

I got a free copy from my grower of that issue. Apparently, I'm his only neo nut in MN. I'll email him and see if he has any remaining....I could've sworn he said he still has some issues. That was only a few months ago...

Ok shakkai,
I sent the email to him. The only thing is......

If he had any issues left, he'd be selling one to you. He was kind enough to "give" me an issue because, well, he's like my "church". I give a generous portion of my paycheck to him every so often. When I hear back from him, I'll let you know and you can decide whether or not you want to purchase a copy.
